Class of 2021 from Newport High School, Newport, PA.   I play the forward positions in both outdoor and indoor field hockey.   At Central Penn Field Hockey I’ve moved up to the U19 level now.  Most recently I was named to the Max Field Hockey Top 100 list. At Newport I am a starting forward and had lettered in both my freshman and sophomore seasons.   In 2018 I helped my High School team take the runners-up spot in Pennsylvania’s PIAA 1A Championship.  In 2019 I will be attending the Dutch Euro Tour Elite Camp to hone my skills.   Field Hockey has become a year-round sport for me including taking the first step in training to become a certified USAFH umpire and currently umpiring for Newport Youth Field Hockey and Central Penn Mini Sticks.  In the spring I also run track to build my endurance.   I am seeking a University where I can play a high level of field hockey and pursue a degree in Sports Management or Kinesiology.   Please click on the link for my full recruiting profile:   https://sites.google.com/site/sophiashoemaker2021

Camp Hill High School -.This past high school season, I started varsity at center defense and played virtually every minute of game time and over time.  I was named 2017 Mid-Penn Capital Division key player, 2017 All-Sentinel Field Hockey Team: First Team, and 2017 Pennsylvania Mid-Penn Conference Capital Division All-Star Honorable Mention. During my Club season, my team qualified for both the U16 and U19 NITs.  We placed second in our pool at NITs in both age groups. My preferred position is left midfield, but I can play any position at mid or defense. In addition to being a player, I am a USA Field Hockey certified umpire.  I attended the first ever Euro Tour Elite camp in 2017 and plan to return to this Dutch camp again this summer. I am looking for a college with strong creative writing and film programs.
