Meant to be” is our motto for our U16 RCC team... they fought through so much adversity, ups and downs at their RCC and pulled out a 3rd place finish. We then had to sit and wait to see if our #16 ranking would be enough to secure one of the four wildcard spots for Nationals. Those of us who were stalking the #usafh #RCC postings saw that of the previous 5 RCC, three spots were claimed by teams ranked above us and we beat out one team. It came down to the final RCC this weekend for the region 9-11 teams... and then came down to the final game for their 3rd/4th place teams. It was Texas Pride vs Gateway... if Texas Pride won we got the final wildcard, if gateway won they would get the last spot and we would miss it by one spot again. Yesterday Gateway beat Texas Pride 2-1 in pool play so we were nervously waiting... Texas Pride won today 4-0 over gateway to secure the 3rd place finish in the region 9-11 RCC so we will be awarded the 4th and last wildcard spot... it all came down in the end to two teams playing miles and miles away and us watching via tourney machine... but it all happened for our #CPFH team because of hard work, dedication, love of the game, traveling to tournaments to help us get the rankings that we needed, incredible support from awesome parents and most of all... amazing athletes who have shown what it is to be a team with respect, appreciation and kindness towards one another. Here we come #NCCs... I hope you are ready for us because we are ready to play!
