If players are having trouble getting added to the roster, just make sure they stop by the tournament desk to fill out a waiver prior to their first game on Saturday.

I know there is not an abundance of extra space throughout our venue, but please make sure your teams and their bags are not blocking walkways, doorways, etc.  There should be no stick and ball warmup anywhere but on the courts!

Also, do not show up more than 30 minutes before your first games!

As you will see on the schedule the “Women’s USA Indoor Masters team” will be practicing both days @ the Miller Center. Should be FUN to watch.

You will be able to enter either the front or back of the “Miller Center”, parking may be more available in the rear entrance.

The “Miller Center” charges $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors and free for children under 5. They also have a very nice concession area for all to enjoy.

A trainer will be “on site” for your convenience throughout the tournament.

All divisions, with the exception of U10 will receive 5-20 minute games along with a championship playoff game. Please be ready to play as soon as the game before you is complete.

We will be giving medals to the winners of each division.

Half of Court 3 will be used for light “warmup” for the teams who are up next, the other half will be used for teams and players equipment but please only take enough room for your team. No parents/friends or food in this area. There is also room upstairs if you prefer.

Thanks in advance for having your team clean up their area after the tournament.

Tie-breaking Procedure in Crossovers or Championship game  -  Ties will be broken by each team taking 3 Shootouts.  If tie remains, then sudden victory shootouts will be started.  (Players used in the first round, may be used in SV, but players may only be used once in SV round.)

Please be aware this this weekend is move in weekend for PSU Spring Semester Students... allow yourselves some extra travel time as there might be alot of traffic!

                         The facility will have four courts being utilized.  All of which will be identical in size.

• Admission: The facility will be charging admission ($5 per person).  All players and coaches will be admitted free of charge.  Parking is free.
• Registration:     Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to complete roster verification BEFORE your first scheduled game.  Registration desk will be open at 7:00 am and will be located inside the front door.
• Concessions: NVSC offers a full concession area, for this reason food and drinks are not permitted to be brought into the facility.
• Team Staging Area: NVSC has a turf field which we will be using for our team gathering spots.  Please feel free to enter the turf field and have your players create a “home base”.  Food and Drink is not permitted on the turf area.  There will be limited space in the concession areas so we ask that teams do not use this area for their “base”.
• Warm-Up Area: We will not have any areas for “warm-ups or stick work” because we will have 4 courts being utilized and 8 teams wanting to “warm-up” at the same time.  There just won't be adequate space to ensure safety as well.
• Trainers: There will be 2 registered athletic trainers on site for any medical issues.
• YOLO Merchandise: YOLO is scheduled to attend this qualifier, so you may purchase merchandise through them.
• Sticks: Blue Lions FHC will be offering a selection of Indian Maharaja indoor and outdoor sticks for purchase.
• Request: Please ask coaches and parents to remain positive and supportive of their players.  Referees will not make every call perfectly, but criticizing loudly does not have any benefits either.  The last thing I want to do is have to remove someone from the building.  I’ve been a parent, coach and tournament director and know how intense this process is for players.  Everyone working at the tournament (scorekeepers, game managers, referees, and myself) have the same goal -  to make this tournament a great experience for everyone involved, if something is not to your satisfaction, please let me know so that I can make improvements for next year.
• Video:  Next Level Video is scheduled to videotape all games for your convenience and purchase.  More information to come.

 -All coaches must check their teams in 30 minutes prior to their first game. Check in will be at the desk located back near the fieldhouse.

-There will be a trainer on site located right next to the check in desk.  Look for the large red “Medical” flag.

-The facility will be busy on Sunday, please try to find an area to keep your bags, etc. that will be out of the way and not blocking any doorways.

-There will be no area for warm up, please do not let your athlete’s warmup in the walkways or open areas around the building!

-Parking- when you come into the facility you need to turn right and park in the spaces near the fields.  The parking lot to the left is for our youth programs and you need to have a permit to park in this lot.  Please follow the TOURNAMENT PARKING SIGNS.

  Please be aware this this weekend is move in weekend for PSU Spring Semester Students... allow yourselves some extra travel time as there might be alot of traffic!

• Facility:

                              Nittany Valley Sports Centre

                              177 Champion Dr.,  Suite 300

                         The facility will have four courts being utilized.  All of which will be identical in size.

• Admission: The facility will be charging admission ($5 per person).  All players and coaches will be admitted free of charge.  Parking is free.
• Registration:     Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to complete roster verification BEFORE your first scheduled game.  Registration desk will be open at 7:00 am and will be located inside the front door.
• Concessions: NVSC offers a full concession area, for this reason food and drinks are not permitted to be brought into the facility.
• Team Staging Area: NVSC has a turf field which we will be using for our team gathering spots.  Please feel free to enter the turf field and have your players create a “home base”.  Food and Drink is not permitted on the turf area.  There will be limited space in the concession areas so we ask that teams do not use this area for their “base”.
• Warm-Up Area: We will not have any areas for “warm-ups or stick work” because we will have 4 courts being utilized and 8 teams wanting to “warm-up” at the same time.  There just won't be adequate space to ensure safety as well.
• Trainers: There will be 2 registered athletic trainers on site for any medical issues.
• YOLO Merchandise: YOLO is scheduled to attend this qualifier, so you may purchase merchandise through them.
• Sticks: Blue Lions FHC will be offering a selection of Indian Maharaja indoor and outdoor sticks for purchase.
• Request: Please ask coaches and parents to remain positive and supportive of their players.  Referees will not make every call perfectly, but criticizing loudly does not have any benefits either.  The last thing I want to do is have to remove someone from the building.  I’ve been a parent, coach and tournament director and know how intense this process is for players.  Everyone working at the tournament (scorekeepers, game managers, referees, and myself) have the same goal -  to make this tournament a great experience for everyone involved, if something is not to your satisfaction, please let me know so that I can make improvements for next year.

NITQ Site Information from Lock Haven...

1.  REGISTRATION:  The registration table will be located at the entrance to the Recreation Center.  We will need signed permission slips,  and health information forms for each participant releasing Lock Haven University from all liabilities.  These forms should be handed in by team contact person before the start of the event.  All of the required forms are attached in the participation packet.   We will only need proof of membership for any roster change made on site.  Additional coaches must show their up-to-date Background Screening Certification.    Please register at least one hour before your first game.  The building will officially open at 6:45 am. 
2. ADMISSION FEE:  There is a $5.00 admission fee for spectators to help with the rental cost of the facility.
3. PARKING:  Please park in the lot directly in front of the Recreation Building located on Railroad Drive.  Parking is free!
4. SCHEDULE:  I have attached a copy of the tournament schedule.   
5. NIT QUALIFICATION:  There are currently 24 teams in the tournament and 12 teams will qualify for the National Indoor Tournament.  Teams that qualify will receive a packet from USA Field Hockey with information on how to register for NITs and information on accommodations. 
6. MEMBERSHIPS:  All players and coaches must have current USA Field Hockey memberships the day of the qualifier.  Coaches must also have a valid background check on that day as well.
7. GAME RESULTS:  Each head coach or captain is responsible for confirming the final score and signing the correct scorecard at the conclusion of each game.  Results will be posted on the second floor and the tournament director is the only person allowed to record results.
8. SPORTSMANSHIP:  Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.  If anyone’s actions are contrary to the high level of sportsmanship expected of all participants they will be escorted out of the facility and disqualified from the tournament.   PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED CODE OF CONDUCT HANDOUT.
9. SPECTATORS:  All spectators must watch the games from the balcony and only team personnel, umpires and event managers are permitted on the playing courts.  Also, everyone is required to stay off all exercise equipment and weight training machines.
10. RECREATION CENTER:  The Recreation Building will be very crowded.  It is suggested that each team claim a space on level 2 and keep their field hockey gear and food stuff in one space.  There will be NO BALL AND STICK ACTIVITY OUTSIDE THE GYMNASIUMS!  There will be numerous trash bins throughout the facility so there should not be any garbage or trash on the floors.  Please help us to keep the facility clean.  Trashing the facility or damaging property is cause for disqualification from the tournament.
11. VENDORS:  There will be team apparel and food and beverage for sale during the day on the upper level.  Large coolers are not permitted in the facility.  NO outside food!
12. TRAINERS:  There will be a certified trainer located by the courts during the event.

This tournament will be only CPFH teams.  It will be run the same as a normal tournament so our teams can practice.  Officials will be on the courts and athletes will be asked to wear their CPFH uniforms.
*If you do not have your uniform yet, you can wear your CPFH pinnie.

Teams listed 1st (home) should wear white jersey and white socks, teams listed 2nd (away) should wear dark jersey and black socks.
**If you are new and do not have your CPFH uniform yet, you can wear your CP practice pinnie, any black shorts and your white or black CP socks for this event.

Games will be one 18 min half, with 1 minute between games.  There will be a warm up space on the sport court for teams who play in the next game.  There are also 3 locker rooms available for the athletes to put their gear and meet up with their teams.
