One of USA Field Hockey’s Core Values is Safety, Health and Well-Being. For sports to be fun, they must be physically and emotionally safe for all participants, free from bullying and all forms of abuse and with low risk of serious injury. USA Field Hockey has the highest standards for safety and mandates SafeSport training and certification for all adult, coach and umpire members who work with minor athletes. The organization also encourages athletes and parents to educate themselves about safety and abuse prevention by reading the attached Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies.
USA Field Hockey, supported by the U.S. Center for SafeSport, has rolled out the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) to ensure that all USA Field Hockey clubs and members are able to be proactive when it comes to preventing abuse. MAAPP applies to all Applicable adults, who are defined as those who have authority over and/or frequent contact with minor athletes. Please note that non-compliance with MAAPP is a violation of the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code. Please report all suspected or alleged MAAPP violations to [email protected].
To report sexual misconduct to the U.S. Center for SafeSport by calling (833)587-7233 or report online by going to: https://safesport.i-sight.com/portal.
If you have any questions about USA Field Hockey's Safe Sport program, please contact [email protected]usafieldhockey.com.
Game Length:
We are excited to be able to run our first ever event in the quarter format. Please be aware that quarters are 15 minutes, 2 minute quarter breaks, and a 6 minute halftime. IF there is a corner at the end of quarter, this will run into the quarter OR halftime break as it is a running clock. Please encourage your athletes to gather quickly for the breaks so you can have as many minutes of play as possible.
Parking:
Before arriving, please take a moment to get familiar with directions and parking at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay. And, please allow ample time for arrival!
Cars will only be able to make a right turn into the complex while driving west on E. Columbus Drive. Traffic will not be allowed to make a left-hand turn into the entrance of the complex if coming east. Therefore, drivers will want to take N. Falkenburg Road to E. Columbus Drive.
If arriving from the west, cars will be directed down E. Columbus Drive to make a U-turn which will allow right turns into the complex entrance.
If parking on-site is full the first lot that cars will be directed to the overflow lot. This lot is within walking distance of the complex and there is sidewalk leading to the entrance. This lot is located off Regional Water Lane on the right hand side (follow the USA Feather Banners).
Handicap Accessibility and Drop Off
USA Field Hockey and the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay would like to make it as easy as possible for those needing special assistance. Handicap drop off will be available as needed if on-site parking areas are full.
